COUNTING DOWN

So, have you been out there in the maddening crowds? Are you enjoying the hustle and bustle?
What will it take for you to slow down, take a deep breath and regroup?
Funny thing is it took a snowstorm for me to settle in. If you were in New England you might have remembered the snowstorm which took place last week...the one where it took people 6 hours to drive home (usually took them 1 hour). Well it was then that youngest son, 21, popped up and said "Let's go to the mall." My response was..."Are you nuts? Look outside." His usual playful smile melted me once more...why not. We did have 4-wheel drive and we could make it. Why not, the snow is beautiful, so much to see. Dawning our boots, mittens, and parkas we headed out with everyone else trying to get home. It took us one hour to go a normal 11 minute route. What could have caught us in laughter from the time we got into the car until we arrived at Best Buy?
1. We could not believe that we were out in this storm.
2. It was spontaneous.
3. It was an adventure.
4. NO ONE WOULD BE IN THE MALLS.
what a great way to finish up our shopping!!
Yes, no one was there. 17 employees came storming over to us asking us if we needed help. They too could not believe that we were actually shopping.
It was well worth it. It gave me the interruption I needed away from the hectic pace, even for a couple of hours.
So as the New Year unveils, do something spontaneous...you will never know the freedom unless you do it...or the laughter. Try it.
